Ten questions, an officer's ear, and a scored verdict at the end. The Visa Interview Simulator lets you sit a student visa mock interview before the real one counts: pick your destination track, answer each question the way you actually would, and get officer-lens feedback after every answer, what the officer hears, what helps, and what raises a flag.

Three tracks cover the main routes: United States (F-1), where the questions test study plan, sponsor funding and intent to return home; the United Kingdom credibility interview, which probes whether the study plan itself is genuine, down to the 28-day funds rule; and a general track in neutral wording for anywhere else. The simulator says its limits up front: the questions are the commonly reported ones that prep guides discuss, not official consulate questions, it is not affiliated with any embassy or government, and no practice tool can guarantee an outcome.

How a practice interview runs

  • Pick your track, then press Start the interview. Ten questions, no timer. The feedback is the point.
  • Each question names its theme: study plan clarity, funding credibility, home ties and intent, consistency, answer quality and confidence.
  • Pick the answer closest to what you would actually say. Right away you get the officer lens: how that answer lands and what a stronger one does differently.
  • At the end, a verdict report scores you across the five themes out of 30 and names your two weakest questions, with the exact answer you gave quoted back at you.

Question 1 on the F-1 track is the classic opener: why do you want to study in the United States? In a real run of this simulator, the answer marked strong named a field, the research groups working in it, and what is missing at home, because, in the officer lens wording, the officer hears a study reason, not a travel reason. Your answers stay in your browser; the app's own footer says only a daily interview counter and an optional email unlock touch the server. When you are ready to compare prep routes, our practice app comparison and the official State Department student visa page bookend the practice nicely. Then sit the interview: open the Visa Interview Simulator.
